All your open tabs (except pinned and grouped ones) will instantly close and save to a list. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Y (Windows/Linux/ChromeOS).
HOW DO I RESTORE MY TABS?+
Open a new tab to see your saved groups.
Click "Restore All" to open all tabs in a group at once, or click individual tabs to open them one at a time. It's that simple.
WHERE ARE MY TABS STORED?+
Everything is stored locally on your device.
TheTab uses your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to the cloud. Your tabs never leave your computer. 100% private.
CAN I EXPORT MY SAVED TABS?+
Yes! Export and import anytime.
Click the "Export" button on the main page. This downloads a JSON file with all your saved tabs. You can import this file on another computer or keep it as a backup.
DOES THETAB WORK OFFLINE?+
Yes, completely.
Since everything is stored locally, TheTab works without an internet connection. Save and restore tabs anytime, anywhere.
IS THETAB FREE?+
Yes. Completely free. Forever.
No premium plans. No hidden costs. No "upgrade to unlock features." TheTab is free and always will be.
WHAT BROWSERS ARE SUPPORTED?+
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave.
TheTab works on all Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi). Other browsers coming soon.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM ONETAB?+
TheTab preserves the original OneTab experience.
We built TheTab because OneTab changed their core functionality. TheTab gives you back the simple, one-click tab saving that made OneTab great in the first place.
HOW DO I SEARCH MY SAVED TABS?+
Use the search bar at the top of the page.
Type any keyword to instantly search through all your saved tabs. TheTab searches both tab titles and URLs in real-time, highlighting matches as you type.
WHAT CAN I SEARCH FOR?+
Search both tab titles and URLs.
TheTab searches through everything - page titles, website URLs, and domain names. If any tab in a group matches your search, the entire group stays visible for context.
HOW DO I CLEAR MY SEARCH?+
Click the clear button or delete your text.
There's a clear button (×) in the search bar. Click it to instantly reset your search and show all tabs again. You can also just delete the text manually.
